Directors Note
Amanda Moore
Welcome to Peter and the Starcatcher! This play is more than a prequel to the beloved Peter Pan; it’s a journey into imagination, teamwork, and the power of storytelling.
At its heart, Peter and the Starcatcher is a story about identity, adventure, and the courage to embrace the unknown. We meet a nameless boy, who, through his encounters with unlikely friends and daunting challenges, discovers who he truly is and what it means to belong. Alongside him, we have Molly, a strong, determined girl who defies expectations and shows us
that courage knows no gender.
Our young cast has poured their energy, creativity, and passion into bringing this magical world to life. They’ve embraced the play’s playful spirit and risen to the challenge of creating dozens of characters with minimal props and set pieces. It’s been incredible to watch them grow as performers, collaborators, and storytellers.
This production celebrates the imaginative power of theater. With a few simple objects, clever movement, and the commitment of our performers, we've created pirate ships, starstuff, and faraway islands. Every element, from the sound effects to the lighting, is a reminder that great
theater doesn’t require elaborate sets—just a group of dedicated individuals working together to
create magic.
As you watch the show, I invite you to let your imagination soar along with ours. Lose yourself in this whimsical tale of friendship, bravery, an discovery. Thank you for supporting our students and sharing in this adventure with us!
